Tomato Rice

Ingredients Required:

Cooked Rice -2 Cups

Tomato – 7 no’s(Medium)

Onion – 1 no(Big)

Green Chili – 2 no’s(Big)

Ginger & Garlic Paste – 1 Spoon

Asafoetida – pinch

Chili Powder – 3/4 Spoon

Curry leaves – As required

Coriander Leaves – As required

Oil – 1 Tablespoon(Kuzhikarandi)

Mustard – 1 Spoon

Urad Dhal – 1/2 Spoon

Preparation Method:

Heat oil until its get heated, Add mustard, urad dal, green chilies, curry leaves and Onion.

Saute until onion turns golden brown.

Now add Tomatoes and saute until tomato is well cooked.

Then add chili powder, salt and saute until it becomes a thick gravy.

Consistency: Cook until oil comes out and make an outline.

Now add coriander leaves and switch off the flame.

Allow it to cool.

Once it gets cooled, Start adding the Cooked rice gently and mix it well.

Now the Yummy Tomato rice is ready to serve.

Tips: 

  1. Use heavy bottom vessel.
  2. Saute Well
  3. Don’t add 2 cups of rice in one shot, add it gently and mix well.
