Mutton Biriyani

Mutton biryani is the traditional and most wonderful recipe in south India. People used to cook biryani in different ways which gives different taste as well. Here am gonna explain you the easiest way to cook tastiest mutton biryani in short time and with limited ingredients

Ingredients required:

Basmati rice — 1 cup(soak for 10 mins)

cashews — 5 no’s

green chillies — 2 no’s

ginger — small piece

garlic — 3 no’s

cinnamon stick — 1 inch

bay leaf — 2 no’s

cardomom — 2 no’s

fennel seeds — 1/2 tsp

cumin seeds — 1 tsp

mint leaves — few

coriander leaves — few

onion — 2 no’s

Tomato — 3 no’s

oil — 3 spoon

Salt — As required

turmeric — pinch

Preparation:

pour 3 tsp of oil in the pressure cooker , when oil started heating put fennel seeds, cumin seeds and other masala items mentioned above (don’t saute as the color may change which gives different taste)under medium heat and add paste(ginger, garlic, cashews and chillies grind together)and saute for 5 to 10 seconds then put onions and tomatoes saute till onion turns brown and tomatoes become squeezy .

Add mutton to the mixture and again saute for 5 minutes then add pinch of turmeric and salt so that the mutton cooks faster and gets good aroma.

then pour 2 cups of water,let it boiled for 5 mins finally add basmati rice and garnish with mint leaves then close it and cook for 10 min(2 whistles)

once the pressure has gone ,open the lid and delicious biryani is ready.

Serving suggestions: garnish with onion toppings and onion raitha
