Avaraikkai Kuzhambhu (Pressure Cooker Method)

Ingredients Required:

Broad Beans – As Required

Onion – 1 no

Tomatoes – 2 no’s

Garlic – 4 no’s(Chopped)

Chili powder – 2 Spoon

Cumin seed – 1/2 Spoon

Fenugreek – 1/2 Spoon

Mustard – 1 Spoon

Asafoetida – pinch

Curry leaves – 1 Spoon

Turmeric Powder – 1/4 Spoon

Tamarind pulp – 1 tablespoon

Coconut Paste – 1/2 Cup

Oil – As Required

Preparation Method:

Before started Cooking, Please find the below things.

Grind Tomato and Onion together and make a paste.
Cut broad beans into long narrow pieces.
Make the coconut paste ready
Add 3 Spoon of oil in the pressure cooker then add Mustard,Cumin and fenugreek  seeds. Once the seeds started bursting, add chopped ginger, curry leaves and saute for a minute under low flame.

Now add Broad beans and saute for 2 minutes after that add Onion and Tomato paste and saute for 5 mins .

Add turmeric, salt and Chili powder with 3 tumblers of water and allow it to boil.

Now add Coconut paste and cook for 3 whistles under medium flame.

That’s it Avarakkai Kozhambu is ready.
